Delvirah gave birth to Egg & Co. in January 2014 with a simple intention: she wanted friends to talk about books. Yes, eventhough only on the internet. She only just graduated from her undergraduate studies and decided that the best way to do it was through a book blog. Now, she already finished her master studies in Scotland, published two books, is currently writing one, works at an energy company, and still loves talking about books.

"Why Egg & Co., though?"

So when she was still young (coughs coughs), she used to name almost all of her gadgets. One of which was her first and only e-book reader ever, whom she named Egg, a nickname of the main character in her beloved fantasy novella.

After awhile, her simple intention grew. She started posing question to herself, to her friends, to anyone in general. Why are fellow bookworms so scarce? Most of her friends do not enjoy reading for pleasure. And it isn't an exclusive issue -- Indonesia has one of the lowest reading literacy in the world (roughly 0.001%, which means that only 1 person out of 1000 enjoy reading!). The root of the problem of course goes deeper, from geographical to political issues. But why not do something?

Egg & Co's wish right not is to pique the interest of Indonesian youth to read by showing how fun reading can be. It's not just a matter of reading stories; so many fun perspectives to see through each character, so many layers that the author tries to convey. So, if after or while browsing through this blog you feel like visiting a book store and/or local library, that means job well done for us.
